CBMDC Local Community Support

Cook and Eat, Afternoon Social and Table Tennis sessions are run weekly under the Local Community Support grant. The groups combat isolation and encourage social interaction amongst older community members. 

 

Food Distribution

KCC works closely with Neighbourly and NEET to access surplus food from local outlets. Items that can not be utilised in the cafe are placed on the community table to be taken FOC.

Drop-in Community Sessions

KCC have built strong relationships with numerous essesential community services.

This has enabled community engagement on a Thursday, during our hot food cafe.

The Police, In-Communities and Area Wardens are present weekly, with CBMDC Adult services, WISHH and Healthy Living attending monthly. 

 

Bi-annual Community Events

KCC works closely with Shipley Town Council to implement and deliver two Community-Wide Events, a Summer Special and the Christmas Lights Switch on. 

 

Food Bank Donation Point

KCC is a venue where the community can drop off donations for Bradford Metropolitian Food Bank. These are then picked up monthly by a volunteer and taken to the food bank for distribution.

KCC Hertiage

Whilst we have undergone a much required rennoavtion, its impartive that the hertiage of the building remains and isnt lost.

Fruit Works

KCC have partnered up with Fruit Works to enable the community to harvest and juice their own fruit. 

The equipment can be utilised by individuals, as a community group or within community events.

Sir Titus Salts Charity

Every November Kirkgate Community Centre supports by distributing Salt vouchers from the community centre, to thoses over 75years who live in BD18 and BD17.

In 2025, 350 vouchers with the value of £30.00 were handed out to the community by our team of vouchers.
